Whilst it is with great appreciation that I write this email to you,it is not a good one and definitely needs reporting. 

In fact His Majesty during the last Sibaya showed us how transparency is important for good governance and we in fact are now seeing an even more transparent Cabinet, however perhaps it may be too soon to commend them.

His Majesty King Mswati III during the last Sibaya spoke in a tone and direction of him wanting effective change within Government with the sole aim of it being beneficial to EmaSwati and future generations.

This in essence extends to all of Government, its Embassies and Foreign Missions alike.Unfortunately we currently have a situation at the Eswatini Mission to the United Nations in New York, USA.

In fact this is the most important foreign office that Eswatini has because the United Nations Headquarters is the world’s stage.His Majesty has frequented there numerous times since coming to the throne, arguably he could very well be the longest serving Head of State within the United Nations.This in itself requires the office there to be a reflection of the King, his endeavors, and maturity.

How does one then see the efficiency and effectiveness of such an Embassy, well the United Nations is a public organization in which information is accessible to the public. 

From that information you can decipher at about Member States and their activities. You can even tell whether on not they are clued up on the business of the day from representation, speeches and Committees that they chair or not chair. 

The current Ambassador to the UN in New York has been at home since Sibaya commenced. His Majesty called upon all Ambassadors to come back home for Sibaya submissions so that when they return to their duty stations, they are able to articulate the system of governance in Eswatini and how transparent it works. 

In fact in December I saw him in late November 2023, which then begs the question as to who is meant to articulate the outcomes of the 2023 elections and Sibaya to the United Nations while he is in Mbabane. In fact the latest session of the United Nations General Assembly started in September 2023 when His Majesty travelled to New York.

After each session starts, numerous meetings run from September until December with Ambassadors deliberating on important issues of the day and agendas needed to fulfill the requirements of the General Assembly.

Case in point is that when there was a UNGA resolution on the situation in Gaza in November 2023, Eswatini was absent from the meeting. Yes the Ambassador does not act along, but as the representative of His Majesty and the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini, he sets the tone and direction based on his position an expertise.
