LOBAMBA:Manzi Zwane,a Member of Parliament(MP) who is critical of the undemocratic King’s Tinkhundla Government took a risk this week when he opposed Mswati’s alleged corrupted R8billion International Convention Centre(ICC) project.

This was during the ongoing Parliament Budget Speech debate, the project was supposed to cost less than R400million however, it has been delayed for more than ten(10)years and allegedly used by King Mswati as a conduit to squander public funds, about R8billion has been spent since the commencement of the project.

“I will rather be the only MP who will not approve this budget,we can’t have a project that was supposed to cost less than R400million,costing R8billion”, said the MP.

The MP uttered these sentiments despite Mswati’s order in his Speech from the Throne, directing Cabinet and Parliament to ensure that, “the project is completed”.

MPs are arrested in eSwatini for criticizing the Monarchy or the government,two(2) pro-democracy MPs Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube were recently convicted on politically motivated terrorism charges merely for demanding democracy.

Another MP Mduduzi Magawugawu Simelane was forced into exile by the King’s regime for amplifying the calls for democracy and an elected Prime Minister(PM).

The King’s order for an additional funding of his R8billion project comes amid shortage of drugs in public hospitals and a collapsing education system with Government staggering to release funds for the sustainability of the University of eSwatini(UNESWA).
