MBABANE:King Mswati says,the idea to build a Stadium at the Hlane Palace for Buganu Ceremony came after women demonstrated commitment and love for their culture.
The King is preparing to build another Stadium worth R300million at Buhleni Royal Residence in a country where about 70% of the population lives below the poverty line.
Eswatini is struggling amid shortage of drugs in public hospitals with the University of eSwatini(UNESWA) and Southern Africa Nazarene University(SANU) facing financial challenges.
Addressing members of Lutsango regiment at Hlane Royal Residence on Saturday evening, the King applauded the women for demonstrating love for their culture.
“The idea of constructing a Stadium here came after you demonstrated love for your culture”, said the King.
Thousands of women gathered at the Hlane Royal Residence to participate in the ongoing Buganu Ceremony.
