LOBAMBA:Nhlanhla Sihlongonyane,the Sithobelweni Member of Parliament(MP) has called upon Pholile Shakantu,the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation who also heads the Ministry of Defense to ensure that,Members of Parliament(MPs)are allowed to at least choose one(1) citizen from their constituencies to be employed by the army.
Speaking in Parliament this week when supporting the call by Mntfongwaneni MP Nathie Hlophe and others to employ more soldiers, the Sithobelweni MP said,fifty-nine(59) “is not a large” number.
“We must be allowed to choose one deserving citizen to be employed as a soldier, as MPs we are 59 and fifty-nine(59) is not a large number”, said the Sithobelweni MP.
Other MPs who supported the idea include Welcome Dlamini,David Cruizer Ngcamphalala and others.
