MBABANE: Jabulani Bhembe, a former Lobamba Indvuna YeNkhundla has confirmed that, the State Intelligence has frozen his company’s bank accounts amid suspicions that, he was distributing money from China to Tindvuna TetiNkhundla to fund a political unrest.
Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
It has been disclosed that, the monies were actually sourced from public funds through the R10million fencing loans for Tindvuna TetiNkhundla, Bhembe’s Nosisa Investments was distributing the monies to Tindvuna TetiNkhundla who preferred to take cash instead of fencing.
Responding to this Swaziland News on Sunday after being asked by this investigative journalist to confirm if it’s true that, his accounts were frozen, Bhembe confirmed the matter and that he was being harassed by the police.
“You will be shocked because the money was deposited into my company’s account by the same Government through the Central Bank. What happened is that, we are dealing with fencing so, other Tindvuna TetiNkhundla applied for the fencing loans through our company and we then paid them cash because some said, they don’t need fencing. The loans are part of Tindvuna TetiNkhundla’s employment benefits. I was shocked when the police accused me of working with China, funding politicians to trigger a political unrest. They told me the money is from China, how can monies paid to our company by the same Government and screened by the Central Bank be from China”, he said.
The former Indvuna YeNkhundla further said, he will file an urgent application in court on Monday, seeking an order to declare the freezing of his company’s bank accounts unlawful.
