MBABANE:Steven Magongo, the Sicelwini uMphakatsi uMgijimi(messenger)allegedly grabbed a home belonging to the late Gogo Msece Mdluli worth over five hundred thousand Rands(R500,000.00)and sold it for a mere four hundred and fifty thousand Rands(R450,000.00).
The Messenger(uMgijimi) allegedly evicted an orphan who is now on the streets without a home, the orphan was residing with his late grandmother at Sicelwini Fairview.
Reached for comments by this Swaziland News on Saturday,Steven Magongo,the Scelwini uMphakatsi uMgijimi responded with arrogance and urged anyone with a complaint to visit uMphakatsi.
“Anyone with a problem must come to uMphakatsi”, he said.
On another note,the orphan told this Swaziland News that,he approached the National Court(Ndabazabantu) to report Magongo and an order was issued for the Messenger(uMgijimi) to return the home and further pay back the money to the buyer however, he allegedly defied the order of the traditional court.
“As we speak I have no home, I was staying there with my grandmother but after her death,uMphakatsi through Magongo grabbed the home and kicked me out”, said the orphan.
On another note,the orphan alleged that, he was once intimidated with the High Court and told that, Judges who “are superior than the National Court issued an order evicting him” from his grandmother’s home. He said he suspected that, this was part of the plot to intimidate and silence him from seeking justice and the return of his inherited property.
Powerless emaSwati including women and children are subjected to injustice within the various Chiefdoms, their properties are grabbed by traditional leaders with impunity.
