MBABANE:Sandile Dlamini, the former Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority(FSRA) who was arrested this week and charged with corruption, once tried to investigate the disappearance of billions within the Public Service Pension Fund(PSPF) where former Prime Minister Cleopas Sipho Dlamini was the Chief Executive Officer(CEO).
It was reported that, the investigation was stopped by Cleopas Dlamini’s ally, the then Prime Minister Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini through Public Service Minister Owen Nxumalo.
Barnabas was once paid R9million by the Pension Fund for a plot in Mbabane that was costing a mere ninety-three thousand Rands(R93,000.00).
Cleopas Dlamini is the husband of Lomvula Hlophe, the Director of Public Prosecutions(DPP) who authorized the arrest of the former FSRA CEO, it has been reported that, Cleopas Dlamini has wealth allegedly amounting to over R50million.
Sandile Dlamini was granted bail by the High Court amounting to fifty thousand Rands(R50,000.00).
Efforts to seek a comment from former Pension Fund and ex-PM Cleopas Dlamini proved unsuccessful as his phone rang unanswered and, he had not responded to our questionnaire at the time of compiling this report.
It has been disclosed that,Dlamini is now a ‘silent’ powerful man as through his wife, the Director of Public Prosecutions(DPP),he can indirectly influence arrests and ‘grant’ prosecution immunity.
