PHOCWENI: Army Commander Lieutenant General Mashikilisane Fakudze says,the renovated Phocweni Clinic will not only benefit soldiers but even members of the community.
Addressing the media on Wednesday during the hand over of the health facility by the Embassy of the United States(US) in eSwatini, the Army Commander applauded the US for the support.
“This health facility will not only benefit soldiers but even members of the community”, said the Army Commander.
On another note,the US Embassy released an online statement after the official handover of the renovated Phocweni Clinic on Wednesday.
“Today, we handed over a beautifully renovated medical unit barrack building that houses 48 essential health care workers for Phocweni clinic. We are proud to have worked with the Eswatini government, Umbutfo Eswatini Defence (UEDF), URC, Microprojects and the community to rehabilitate these structures so the clinic can continue providing high quality medical care to Phocweni and surrounding communities. The frontline medical workers who will benefit from this renovation provide vital care to many Emaswati—80 percent of those who receive services at Phocweni are actually civilians—and if health care workers have a better quality of life, they provide better care.The U.S. government through The U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) is committed to ensuring a safe working environment for all health care workers—this is at the core of our mission to combat HIV and invest in the health of all Emaswati”, reads the online statement released by the US Embassy eSwatini.
