No protective clothing for workers at Mafutseni Total Filing Station,General Manager Lawrence Hermensson abusing employees.

MAFUTSENI:Lawrence Hermensson, a General Manager at Mafutseni Total Filling Station was found abusing workers and forcing them to work without protective clothing.

The General Manager was allegedly uttering insults and racist statements to employees, other employees were seen running up and down not knowing what to do as the General Manager insults them.

When this Swaziland News contacted the General Manager later on Thursday evening,he declined to comment.

Reached for comments on Thursday,Wander Mkhonza,the Secretary General(SG) of the Amalgamated Trade Union of Swaziland(ATUSWA) said, as a union, they “are totally against white employers” who practice apartheid in the workplace.

“We are totally against white employers who leave South Africa where there was apartheid and come here to practice apartheid. This is unacceptable and apartheid is not a policy in this country. On the issue of protective clothing, the workers must report the company to the Labour Department in Siteki and once they have reported, they must contact us so we can make a follow-up”, said the ATUSWA Secretary General.
