NOKWANE:MfanaweNkhosi Khumalo, a brother to Lobamba Lomdzala Member of Parliament(MP) Marwick Khumalo and grandson to King Sobhuza has been promoted by the King to the position of Lieutenant Major General.
This was during the Army Day Celebration held at the Army Headquarters-Nokwane on Friday.
MfanaweNkhosi Khumalo is the son of Princess Gcinaphi and the late King Sobhuza’s right-hand man Nkomnophondo Khumalo, he was promoted together with Thandumusa Dlamini who was elevated to the position of Major General.
Princess Gcinaphi,the mother of the new Lieutenant Major General was born from the royal household of Prince Maguga.
Others include four(4) Colonels who were promoted to the positions of Brigadier Generals and this include:Ncanawe Dlamini,Sotja Dlamini, Chimpa Shongwe and Elijah Shabangu, who is currently attending a course in the Republic of China on Taiwan.
The King promised to come back and announce new promotions next year,he however,highlighted that some promotions will be handled by the Lieutenant General Mashikilisane Fakudze.
