Sigcawini Water Scheme Chairman Mbutfo Elvis Dlamini confesses to residents to have looted R15,000.00 donated by editor,reported to uMphakatsi.

SIGCAWINI: Mbutfo Dlamini, the Chairman of the Sigcawini Water Scheme has confessed to have looted fifteen thousand Rands(R15,000.00) donated by editor Zweli Martin Dlamini and his friend to help the residents get a borehole.

The editor donated ten thousands Rands(R10,000.00) in August 2023 and further asked his friend who is a businessman in eSwatini to donate five thousand Rands(R5,000.00), the total was R15,000.00.

The Chairman of the Water Scheme was reported to Sigcawini uMphakatsi after he confessed that, he looted the money meant for the community water project, the residents were hoping to raise at least One Hundred Thousand Rands(R100,000.00) to start the project.

The Water Scheme Chairman failed to explain when asked by this Swaziland News why he looted the donated monies.

Editor Zweli Martin Dlamini described the looting of the monies as very unfortunate and clarified that, corruption delays development in many communities even if others may wish to help.

”This is very unfortunate, corruption delays development in many communities and this,means the residents will struggle for more years without clean water,” said the editor.
