GEGE:”We have no government,no courts and we are just powerless”.

These were the sentiments of Gege senior citizen Mciniseli Nhleko whose home was demolished this week by politically connected businessmen Tito Dlamini, Sandile Simelane and investors from Taiwan particularly John Fan, the Director of Nhlangano FTM Garments, Nhleko was speaking to this Swaziland News during an interview.

The politically businessmen have been avoiding questions from this publication when asked to explain the gross human rights violations.

The Taiwan investors and politically connected businesspeople allegedly seized the land at Gege-Mbondzela and other areas, the land was secretly converted into Farm 19 and 22.

On Monday evening, Nhleko told this publication that, a TLB driven by an unknown person who was with armed security guards, arrived at his home and destroyed houses, he then showed the gravesite of his ancestors.

The Government has been silent amid the ongoing human rights violations at Gege as perpetrators are allegedly linked to those in power and Taiwan.

But this week,eSwatini political parties that include the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) visited the affected families at Mbondzela, one of the areas were the evictions are taking place, hundreds are homeless after being forced out of their homes.

“We are here at the Gege-Mbondzela to express our solidarity with the evicted residents”, said Siboniso Mkhabela, the National Organizing Secretary(NOS) of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO).

Lioness Sibandze, the Secretary General of the Swaziland People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) also condemned the forceful eviction of the Mbondzela-Gege families, whose homes were ruthlessly demolished.

The eviction means Mciniseli Nhleko and other residents have not only been deprived their land but, they will not visit the graves of their ancestors.

Eswatini is ruled by Mswati as an absolute Monarch, human rights are violated with impunity.
