MBABANE:Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Pholile Dlamini-Shakantu said government is currently working on various laws that seek to improve the social standing of women in the country.
Addressing the 3rd Annual Women\'s Convention hosted by Women & Law Eswatini in Ezulwinion Wednesday, the Minister said one of the functions of the justice system was to level the playing field by ensuring that both and women enjoy equal protection before the law.
\"One of the key functions of the justice system is to level the playing field by ensuring that both men & women enjoy equal protection of the law. Eswatini is one of the few countries in Africa that Constitutionally entrenched a gender quota of 30%.We are in the process of amending all Family Law Bills so that they are in conformity with the Constitution. Stakeholder consultations on these Family Law Bills is ongoing. The draft bills include the Marriages Bill, Matrimonial Property Bill, The Administration of Estates Bill, The Wills Bill & the Interstate Succession Bill\"said the Justice Minister
