CONSTITUTIONAL COURT RULES:Fomer President Jacob Zuma not eligible to stand for election due to previous contempt of court conviction.

MBABANE:Former South African President and leader of the newly formed uMkhonto WeSizwe(MK) Party Jacob Zuma, is not eligible to stand for elections due to his previous contempt of court conviction, the Constitutional Court ruled on Monday.

This comes after the Independent Electoral Commission(IEC) of South Africa successfully appealed the decision of Electoral Court that ruled in Jacob Zuma’s favour.
