MBABANE:Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has been, once again, accused of failing to account for R30million while working as the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Disaster Management Agency(NDMA)under the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office.

This was disclosed in Parliament on Monday morning when officials from the NDMA appeared before the Public Accounts Committee(PAC) to answer for the missing R30million as per the report of the Auditor General(AG).

The report of the Auditor General covers the year 2021 and at the time, the Prime Minister was the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the NDMA.

Worth-noting, Dlamini previously failed to account for about R180million and this means, the missing amount of public funds under the watchful eye of the PM, now stands at R210million.

It has been disclosed that, part of the looted monies were meant to benefit poor members of the public in the rural areas through COVID-19 grants.

“This is taxpayers money, we cannot allow it kutsi kungaba nebantfu labatsatsa bo-R30million singabati kutsi babhekephi”, said Nhlambeni Member of Parliament(MP) Manzi Zwane, an influential member of the PAC.

On another note, Sandile Nxumalo, the Somntongo Member of Parliament(MP) expressed serious concerns that previous recommendations of the PAC were not implemented, he said something must be done to ensure accountability of the missing public funds.

Prime Minister Russell Dlamini, while serving as NDMA Chief Executive Officer once appeared before the PAC and, he failed to account for about R180million when questioned by MPs.

But another report compiled by the Auditor General(AG) suggests that, Dlamini went on to ‘steal’ R30million more from public coffers.

It has been reported that, the Prime Minister is now using the Anti Corruption Commission(ACC) to arrest Auditor General Timothy Matsebula for exposing the corruption within the NDMA in his audit reports.
