MBABANE:”BakaNgwane bashinga ngatsi by establishing diplomatic relations with Taiwan,the Chinese Province”.
These were the sentiments of Wandile Dludlu,the Deputy President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO)when speaking to this Swaziland News on Thursday morning.
The senior PUDEMO leader was asked by this publication to share a comment about the country’s decision to establish diplomatic relations with Taiwan, a Chinese province.
Kushinga is a siSwati word meaning a hypocritically visit or establishment of temporary relations with someone with intent to benefit,kushinga is popular in the rural areas where neighbors visit each other seeking for free food.
“Eswatini is a member of the Non-Aligned Movement(NAM), being countries that committed not to involve themselves in the affairs of other countries.But now, we are seeing BakaNgwane(country’s authorities) interfering in the affairs of China by recognizing its province as a country just because,they are financially benefiting at personal level”, said the PUDEMO Deputy President.
On another note,King Mswati pledged to remain a loyal and Taiwan’s trusted friend in the entire African continent,he was addressing newly elected Taiwan President William Lai Ching-te and other guests during the inauguration.
