MBABANE:Chia-Min Chang from the Taiwan Embassy allegedly attended the recent United Nations(UN) COPE28 Climate Change Conference held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates(UAE) while pretending to be eSwatini citizen,an investigation reveals.

Documents in possession of this Swaziland News suggest that, Chia-Min Chang who uses a Taiwanese passport, was with Chien-Chen Lien when attending the said United Nations(UN) Climate Change Conference.

But when this investigative journalist verified their passports with the eSwatini Government and international immigration systems, it was discovered that, Chien-Chen Lien was previously using a Chinese passport,both of them attended the Conference fraudulently using the Kingdom of eSwatini Sovereign status.

Taiwan is not recognized as a country by the United Nations(UN) but remain a province of China and this, was endorsed by the UN through Resolution 2758 of 1971 that recognized the ‘One China’ principle.

A questionnaire was sent to Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo,however,he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

Jeremy Liang,the Taiwan Ambassador to the Kingdom of eSwatini declined to comment about the matter.

Reached for comments on Sunday evening,Mlungisi Makhanya,the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) said King Mswati’s decision to support Taiwan and even arrange the fraudulent participation of Taiwan Embassy officials into UN meetings in the name of eSwatini, should be viewed in context, as part of his ongoing mission to support ‘rebels’ and destabilize democratic countries including China.

The PUDEMO President said, just like in the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC) where the King through his son and Defense Principal Secretary(PS) Prince Sicalo tried to overthrow President Felix Tshisekedi by supporting rebels led by Christian Malanga, the leader of the United Congolese Party(UCP), the King “is in a similar mission” by supporting Taiwan so that he can stabilize China.

“We are not surprised because, we have been warning how Mswati has turned the Swazi State to be. He is now using its Sovereignty to conduct insurrect neo-mercenary methods of trying to destabilize other Sovereign States such as the People’s Republic of China”, said the PUDEMO President.

The documents further suggest that,the Taiwan nationals who pretended to be emaSwati were included in the United Nations(UN) Climate Change delegation with officials from the Eswatini Environment Authority(EEA) among others.
