Nation Magazine editor Bheki Makhubu questions Prime Minister on shortage of drugs in public hospitals,PM says over R260million already spent but health crisis worsening.

MBABANE:Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini says Government has spent over R260million purchasing drugs in public hospitals since October 2023.

The PM was responding to a question posed by Bhekithemba Makhubu,the editor of the Nation Magazine during the Breakfast Meeting with editors at the Mountain View on Thursday.

“We are working on addressing the problem,Government has spent over R260million purchasing the drugs”, said the PM.

Worth-noting,public hospitals continue to face challenges amid shortage of drugs, Mayibongwe Masangwane, the Secretary General of the Swaziland Democratic Nurses Union(SWADNU) told this Swaziland News earlier that, hospitals are still facing shortage of drugs.

It remains unclear if the money was not looted amid rampant corruption in the public administration.
