Health PS assures of COVID-19 vaccines but advices Nation to continue adopting preventive measures.

MBABANE: Dr Simon Zwane, the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Health has promised that with the help of the World Health Organization(WHO) and other international partners, citizens will gain access to COVID-19 vaccines.

Speaking to this Swaziland News on Tuesday, the PS confirmed that by mid-year 2021, WHO would have approved vaccines to be distributed around the world including the Kingdom of eSwatini.

“The world is working on a vaccine as a preventive measure, scientists are busy and over 200 companies are doing the research but only six are being considered for now” said the PS.

The Health Controling Officer said they are currently working with the WHO through international stakeholders to ensure that the country prepares all the stages to gain access to the vaccines. 

The PS advised the Nation to continue adopting preventive measures by washing their hands, sanitizing and wearing of masks.
