MASUNDVWINI:Sibonokuhle Langa, the orphan whose home was allegedly grabbed and sold by Masundvwini uMphakatsi uMgijimi Steven Magongo says, his case has been concluded and as a result,he is going back to occupy his property.
The orphan who inherited the home situated at Sicelwini from his late grandmother Gogo Mdluli, was allegedly ‘kicked-out’ by uMgijimi after the death of his grandmother.
Umgijimi Steven Magongo then sold the property for four hundred and fifty thousand Rands(R450,000.00), Magongo has been abusing his traditional powers trying in an effort to prevent the orphan from occupying his property at Sicelwini and the latest developments suggest that, the uMgijimi must refund the buyer.
But after the matter made headline from this Swaziland News since 2023,the orphan was subsequently assisted by Manzini Regional Administrator Chief Prince Gija who issued an order directing the Masundvwini uMphakatsi to allow the orphan back home.
King’s man Sigodvo Motsa who is part of the Masundvwini Inner Council also played a role in ensuring that, the orphan is allowed back home, he summoned Langa into a meeting and apologized while clarifying that, the Council was not aware that, uMgijimi sold the home for R450,000.00.
On Sunday, the orphan sent a message to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini informing him that the matter has been concluded and he will be going back home.
“I have been summoned again to collect a court document that empowers me to go back home,so the matter has been concluded”, said the orphan.
Langa who was studying in South Africa was shocked when he came back only to find that, his home has been sold by the Masundvwini uMgijimi for the said amount.
Editor Zweli Martin Dlamini has been prioritizing the matter and giving it maximum publicity since last year, he even called the Masundvwini uMgijimi seeking clarity about the matter.
Dlamini thanked those who assisted the orphan including the Regional Administrator(RA) and the Masudvwini Inner Council for allowing Langa back home.
“As a publication,it’s humbling to see a matter that we have been reporting about reaching its conclusion.Orphans, widows and the general powerless citizens deserve to be protected from such acts of injustice. In siSwati an orphan “ngumntfwana weNdlunkhulu” and the Masundvwini Inner Council did well to prioritize the matter and allow the orphan back home”,said the editor.
