MBABANE: Andile Nkomonye known as Dr Mkhulu is allegedly making efforts to meet King Mswati for “kwembula ingubo” after what he described as a “disappointing” payment for what he did for the King and the Government in kidnapping Thabo Kunene, the alleged Commander of the pro-democracy Solidarity Forces.
Kwembula ingubo is a cultural practice meaning “appealing to their Majesties” for a solution in a matter that remain unresolved.
Reached for comments earlier,King’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane told this Swaziland News that,he was not aware that, Nkomonye was a traditional healer for the King.
The King’s Spokesperson sent a message to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini on Sunday evening informing him that,he was out of the country and might struggle to respond to questionnaires timely, due to the different time zones.
Dr Mkhulu has been frequenting the country in an effort to meet Mswati but,the officers who allegedly pocketed part of his payment “are allegedly using their influence to block him from having an audience with the King”.
It is alleged that,a reasonable payment for Nkomonye was made but only thirty thousand Rands(R30,000.00) reached him as the chain of claiming the money was huge and involving many police officers who also claimed to have played a role in apprehending Thabo Kunene.
The alleged Solidarity Forces was kidnapped in a joint operation involving Assistant Commissioner Clement Sihlongonyane,Thabo Hlophe and one officer identified as Stopper, both of them are alleged to be claiming a share in Dr Mkhulu’s payment.
Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson declined to comment about the matter.
Information gathered suggests that,Dr Mkhulu has been putting pressure on his brother Nhlanhla Nkomonye, the Simunye Police Station Desk Officer persuading him to assist in securing the payment from the King.
“He is very bitter and feel betrayed by the King and Government after what he did for the country”, said a source very close to the matter.
But it is alleged that, after the payment was made by Government through cash payment methods and a budget for informers, the police officers are alleged to have deducted their share, something that did not go down well with Dr Mkhulu.
It is alleged that,Dr Mkhulu believed the officers were in their line of duty and “receive monthly salaries hence they don’t deserve any special payment for the abduction and subsequent arrest of the Solidarity Commander ”.
The exact amount of payment that was supposed to reach Dr Mkhulu remain unknown as immediately after the arrest of the alleged Commander, many security officers claimed thousands of Rands from the State, pretending to be Dr Mkhulu agents.
Efforts to reach the alleged traditional healer proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
On another note, political organizations are currently conducting an investigation with an intention to open a case of abduction against the controversial traditional healer with the South African courts.
Dr Mkhulu.
