Deaths looming in eSwatini as Ministry of Director of Health Services Dr Velephi Okello confirms five(5) new COVID-19 cases amid shortage of drugs.

MBABANE:Dr Velephi Okello,the Director of Health Services has confirmed five(5) new cases of COVID-19, at the time when the country is facing shortage of drugs in public hospitals.

The Director announced the new emerging influenza-like during a press conference on Monday afternoon.

“The current wave of flu-like illnesses seems to be from common colds associated with the season winter season, we have just confirmed COVID-19 cases this week”,she said.

Mayibongwe Masangwane,the Secretary General of the Swaziland Democratic Nurses Union(SWADNU) told this publication earlier that, public hospitals are still facing shortage of drugs.

This means should the new COVID-19 virus spreads,more citizens might visit hospitals without any access to health services.
