MBABANE:Johannes Manikela,the Chairperson of the Federation of Eswatini Business Community(FESBC) in the Hhohho region says local businesses within the Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs) are collapsing amid Government failure to pay suppliers on time.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Friday,Manikela urged Government to speed-up the payments to enable companies to operate and pay their bills.
“Local businesses are literally struggling,money is not circulating”, he said.
The FESBC Hhohho Chairman was reacting to a statement delivered by Finance Minister Neal Rijikernberg during the recent Tax Indaba,he urged the Minister to intervene and speed-up the payment process.
On another note,Manikela said businesspeople or companies that owe Government tax are forced to pay despite the Government delay in paying suppliers.
