This comes after Public Service Minister Mabulala Maseko announced the permanent employment of the said number of teachers on Wednesday.

“We appreciate the employment of the 364 teachers, as an association we appreciate every decision that seeks to change the lives of teachers for the better, even if it was one(1),we were going to appreciate.But what you need to understand is that, the 364 are not new jobs but Government announced the permanent employment of teachers who were already working as temporary Government employees. So Government did what was supposed to be done in the first place,employing teachers permanently. So we are demanding the permanent employment of four thousand(4000) teachers who are already working as temporary employees.We are also demanding the employment of another 4000 new teachers so we will relieve the pressure in the various schools amid shortage of teachers.When we say new teachers, we mean teachers who will come from home and get employed by Government.We want new jobs for 4000 teachers and we want them to be employed permanently”, said the SNAT Secretary General when interviewed by editor Zweli Martin Dlamini on Wednesday.
