MBABANE:Nkosingiphile Seyama, the Secretary General of the Swazis First Democratic Front(SFDF)has,on behalf of the organization, released a statement remembering the assassination of Deputy Secretary General Muzi Mmema and human rights lawyer Thulani Maseko allegedly,by the Tinkhundla undemocratic regime.
“The National Executive committee of the SFDF joins eMaswati to remember the 3rd anniversary of the 29th June massacre. This important day is embedded on the bravery, blood and ultimate price of man and women who in the face of death and defiance vowed to challenge the unjust Tinkhundla system of governance. As if that was not enough, the regime orchestrated the assassination of SFDF DSG,Cde Muzi Mmema and Human Rights lawyer,Thulani Maseko.Confronted by daily struggles, such as lack of job opportunities,no medication in hospitals, lack of scholarships, poverty and poor education, our people stood as a solid phalanx and confronted the regime.Instead of listening to the plight of our people, the unreasonable and ever thirsty for blood government responded with a barrel of a gun killing over 100 innocent people. The SFDF salute all the martyrs of our struggle and believe that their blood will water the tree of our revolution that will bear fruit of equity, job opportunities, scholarships for all, land for all,and a decent medical care. The SFDF calls upon democracy seeking people to think long and hard about those who lost their lives, those behind the bars and those who have lost everything because of our revolution. All these should not be in vain,it is time that we revive and consolidate our effort to seek the democratic dispensation we all envisage”,reads the statement released by the political organization.
Eswatini is commemorating three(3) years since the 29th June 2021 massacre, dozens of innocent civilians were killed merely for demanding democratic reforms.
