SIMUNYE:Nick Jackson, the Managing Director of the Royal Eswatini Sugar Corporation(RESC) allegedly threatened to fire Senior Managers for delaying to pay bonuses for seasonal workers.
This comes after the Managing Director received a message or questionnaire from Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini, where the editor was enquiring about the delay in the payment of the bonuses that were announced by the company through the MD last week.
Jackson was very diplomatic when responding to this Swaziland News about the issue,he said he had already signed for two thousand four hundred(2400) workers,he then urged those who have not received their monies to approach the Human Capital.
“Good Morning. You will need to be more specific as I signed for around 2,400 seasonals to receive Dvuladvula. We withhold pending the outcome of disciplinary cases. You also don’t receive if you resigned during the year.If someone feels they should have received but didn’t,they need to approach their HC or Union rep and we will look into it”, said the Managing Director in a message sent to the editor on Tuesday morning.
But some seasonal workers said they then received calls from a Manager who told them their money was being processed adding that, the Managing Director blasted and told them to resign if they were failing to work.
“Thank you for publishing the article, they are now processing our bonuses. One Manager told me that the Managing Director called and told them to resign if they are failing to work. The MD asked them what he was signing for if the bonuses haven’t reached the workers”, said the employee.
