MBABANE:Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has,on behalf of Government presented seventy-five thousand Rands(R75,000.00) to Dance World Cup hero Ndoniyamanzi Luhlanga.
The PM applauded the young dancer for her silver-winning performance at the Dance World Cup in Prague, Czech Republic,he presented her with an extra five thousand Rands(R5000.00) from his own pocket and the dancer walked home with eighty thousand Rands(R80,000.00).
“We are pleased to know that this is the country’s first medal at a World Championship sports event in a long time. The fact that this drought has been ended by a 11-year-old makes it even more outstanding. Ndoni, you have written your name not just into sporting history, but into the history of our great Kingdom.I am now pleased to hand over this token of appreciation of E75 000 to you, Ndoni,from His Majesty’s Government,for your outstanding performances and for putting Eswatini on the world map.This is part of the standard recognition programme that Government runs for excelling, podium-finishing athletes through the Ministry of Sports,Culture,and Youth Affairs.I wish to begin by thanking Ndoni’s family for fully supporting their daughter to pursue her passion and talent in dancing.The family structure is integral in the development of our children, who are the future of our country and from whom our future leaders will come. Without the family’s support,we would not be here today,” said the Prime Minister as quoted by Government online platforms,he was speaking at the Cabinet Offices on Wednesday.
