MAFUCULA:Themba Msibi,the Lubombo Regional Administrator(RA) has assured Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini that he will engage BatfwaBenkhosi from kaShewula and demand answers regarding the grabbing of the multimillion sugarcane project from poor residents.
This comes after the traditional leaders grabbed the project that was funded by the European Union(EU) to assist the residents fight poverty, the traditional leaders subsequently refused to respect Judge Mavuso’s court order who ruled in favour of the residents.
The Judge ordered the sugar cane company to reinstate the members and further pay the outstanding monies, the monies owed to the residents amount to over R2million.
The residents contacted the editor this week informing him that, they haven’t received their monies despite the court order, the residents said, BatfwabeNkhosi told them that they wanted to appeal to the Regional Administrator.
“They haven’t approached me but on Friday I will be meeting Chiefs and will ask them what is happening and give you an informed response”, said the Regional Administrator in a telephone conversation with the editor on Wednesday.
The editor had contacted the Regional Administrator enquiring if BatfwaBenkhosi from KaShewula approached him about the matter,the traditional leaders allegedly abused their powers to grab the project.
