LOBAMBA:King Mswati’s libandla room situated at Ludzidzini Palace was burnt about two(2) weeks ago,Percy Simelane,the King’s Spokesperson confirmed to this Swaziland News on Friday evening.
“Upon double checking if there has been another fire this week,I discovered that it is still the veld fire we recorded a week ago.Yes,fire engulfed the building in question.There were fires everywhere a week ago in Eswatini fanned by very strong wind.Several homes were affected”, said the King’s Spokesperson.
It is alleged that,the wild fire that ‘invaded’ the Palace affected several houses including a Tuck Shop owned by Umbutfo Dangalaza.
“The fire department tried in vain to fight the fire.But the King has commissioned traditionalists and ritual men to consult traditional healers and find out what this mean”, said a member of the King Intelligence Unit.
The King’s bodyguard said,the fire invaded the Palace on Wednesday last week but the matter was kept a top secret as efforts were being made to consult traditional healers and conduct other rituals.
This journalist was tipped-off by fire personnel,after identifying the incident recorded in one of the occurrence books within the Department of Fire.
