MBABANE:SwaziBet trading as 8bet has filed an application in court demanding answers from the Gaming Board under the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, why eBet was granted a license despite owing beneficiaries over R50million.

But before filling the court application,8bet had filed an objection before the Gaming Board, demanding that eBet be forced or directed to pay the said amount before the granting of the license, the Board went on to grant the license without providing reasons to 8bet that influenced the decision.

“This is an application to compel the Board to comply with its duty in terms of the basic principles of administrative law to provide the applicants with reasons for a decision taken against the applicants’ interests”, reads the court papers in part, filled this week.
