MBABANE:Vumile Dlamini, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Royal Science Technology Park(RSTP)was investigated by the Anti-Corruption Commission(ACC) amid allegations of corruption and/or misappropriation of millions within the State owned company, under the Ministry of Information,Communication and Technology(ICT).

This is contained in leaked secret State documents from the Central Bank of Eswatini(CBE) Financial Intelligence Unit, the documents suggest that,Dlamini was investigated together with members of the top Management and others that include Nontsetselelo Patricia Msibi and Sebenzile Dlamini.

But a separate investigation conducted by this Swaziland News uncovered that,Sipho Mthethwa, the Chief Investigator of the Anti-Corruption Commission(ACC) was allegedly bribed to sabotage the investigations.

Both Vumile Dlamini Dlamini and the Spokesperson of the Anti Corruption Commission(ACC) Jabu Phakathi declined to comment.

But it has been disclosed that,on or around 28th May 2020 amid allegations of corruption within the Science and Technology Park, the ACC together with the Eswatini Financial Intelligence Unit(EFIU) intensified an investigation against the CEO Vumile Dlamini and others under file number 73/2019.

“In your request you asked that we provide information on all credit cards held by the above mentioned individuals and RSTP and the FIU has the following to report”, reads some correspondence and/or a letter from Fitzgerald Graham, the Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit.

The letter and a report was directed to Sipho Mthethwa, the Chief Investigator of the Anti Corruption Commission(ACC) who subsequently sabotaged the investigation.

In the report or documents and subsequent to the investigation,CEO Vumile Dlamini who was born on the 29th May 1969,was found to be a holder of a Standard Bank Credit card opened on 15th June 2016,the report include credit card numbers that cannot be revealed for cyber security reasons.

Ntsentselelo Patricia Msibi, another individual who was subject of an investigation by the ACC and born on the 11th January 1971,was found to be a credit card holder with the First National Bank(FNB) the card was allegedly opened on 15th August 2006,both credit cards were found to have a limit of over fifteen thousand Rands(R15,000.00).

The documents from the Eswatini Financial Intelligence Unit further cited Sebenzile Dlamini who was born on the 18th March 1979 as a person of interest in the investigations.

Again,Sebenzile was also found to be owning a credit card with similar limit to that of CEO Vumile Dlamini and Patricia Msibi.

But a separate investigation conducted by this publication uncovered that, the investigation was triggered by allegations suggesting that, the CEO was colluding with other members of the Management to loot millions through suppliers, the credit cards were investigated as part of the broader investigation that was then sabotaged by the Anti Corruption Commission(ACC).

On another note, the State documents includes suspicious transactions for private companies, politicians,State owned entities and businesspeople among others.
