MBABANEPhindile Dlamini, the Commissioner General of the Correctional Services is allegedly plotting to poison and kill convicted pro-democracy Member of Parliament(MP)Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza inside prison.

As a result, the Commissioner General has filed court papers, urging the court to ‘force’ the influncial convicted MP to eat prison food.

The pro-democracy MP is allegedly being assaulted in prison almost everyday,in complete disregard or violation of the Basic Principles for Treatment of Prisoners adopted by the United Nations(UN) on the 14th December 1990.

“All prisoners shall be treated with the respect due to their inherent dignity and value as human beings”, reads one of the UN basic principles for the treatment of prisoners.

But it has been disclosed that, the consistent assaults that the MP has been consistently subjected to at the hands of prisons authorities, was systematic and meant to,among others, cause invisible injuries and/or internal bleeding so that, the MP could die and never see the Freedom Day under a new democratic dispensation.

It is alleged that, the order to assault, poison and kill the MP was allegedly issued by King Mswati,an absolute Monarch with Executive,Judicial and Legislative powers.

Mswati stands accused of issuing an order to arrest the MP Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube merely for demanding democracy.

But Percy Simelane, the King’s Spokesperson described the allegations suggesting that, the King wants to poison and kill the MP Mabuza as a stunt meant to seek public sympathy.

Responding to this Swaziland News on Tuesday morning, the Spokesperson clarified that, the King “has nothing to do” with any plot to poison MP Bacede Mabuza adding that,no one has been reportedly poisoned in eSwatini prisons in history.

“We believe strongly that this is all made-up for cheap audiences. Not even with the senses of half a dead fly would a normal thinking person believe in this.It has never happened before. No one has been reportedly poisoned in Eswatini's prisons or Correctional Services since history. We see it as a stunt to harvest cheap sympathy”, said the King’s Spokesperson when responding to this publication on Tuesday morning.

MP Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza was sentenced by royal linked Judge Mumcy Dlamini to life imprisonment merely for demanding democracy and this, was after he was found guilty on politically motivated terrorism, sedition and murder charges.

But after being sentenced,MP Bacede Mabuza was subsequently stopped from going to the gym or exercising inside the prison and, attempts were made to ‘force’ him to eat prison food.

Phindile Dlamini, the Commissioner General of the Correctional Services has filed court papers opposing the MP's application, she wants Judge Titus Mlangeni to compell Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza to eat prison food allegedly,so that he can be vulnerable to being poisoned.

Assistant Commissioner Gugulethu Dlamini, the Spokesperson of the Correctional Services declined to comment and clarify the allegations particularly the plot to poison and kill the convicted pro-democracy MP inside prison.

It has been disclosed that, last week,Matsapha Prison authorities denied MP Bacede Mabuza’s children the permission to see their father.

The children who subsequently cried hysterically at the prison gate while being blocked and harassed by warders, were accompanied by their mother who was also denied permission to see her husband.
