Striking Standard Bank Eswatini workers reject 5.5% in demand for 6%,accuse Chief Executive Mvuselelo Fakudze of bullying by imposing conditions.

MBABANE:Jabu Shiba,the Secretary General of the Swaziland Union of Financial Institutions and Allied Workers(SUFIAWU) says,Standard Bank workers rejected the 5.5% offered by their employer through Chief Executive Mvuselelo Fakudze.

This comes the Chief Executive warned that,if the workers “reject the 5.5% until Friday morning”, the bank will revert back to the original offer of 5.15%.

“Our offer of 5.5% is valid until 8am on Friday morning,if you don’t accept that offer,we are reverting back to the original offer of 5.15%”,said the Standard Bank Chief Executive when speaking during a press conference on Wednesday.

But Jabu Shiba, the SUFIAWU Secretary General told this Swaziland News on Thursday evening that,the workers rejected the 5.5%.

“The workers rejected the 5.5%,they are demanding not less than 6% and they feel the Chief Executive is bullying them”, said the SUFIAWU Secretary General.
