Bangladesh Army Chief of Staff pleads with protesters to end violent protests,trust the Army with leadership and forming an Interim Government after ousting of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

MBABANE:General Waker-Uz-Zaman,the Bangladesh Army Chief of Staff has urged protestors to trust the army with leadership and facilitating the formation of an Interim Government.

The Army Chief of Staff shared these sentiments on Monday when announcing the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the PM subsequently fled to India amid deadly protests triggered by poverty among others.

“I have met leaders of the various political parties and we are working on forming an Interim Government”,said the Army Chief of Staff as quoted by the State media.

General Waker-Uz-Zaman also pledged to take action against security officers who allegedly killed civilians during the deadly protests against resigned Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Government.
