HLATHIKHULU:Dumsani Masuku,a disabled ex-USA Distillers employee has been evicted by his wife Hlathikhulu police officer Lungile Lydia Makhubu after spending over six hundred thousand Rands(R600,000.00) building a home.
This comes amid escalating cases of violence by women against men in eSwatini, Masuku told this Swaziland News on Friday evening that, his employer paid him R600,000.00 after being involved in an accident and he used all the money to build the home.
The disabled ex-USA Distillers employee further mentioned that, the said amount was not enough to build the home and he ended-up using an income sourced from his rented flats to complete it.
“But after finishing the home, she told me that, she was no-longer in love with me and I must leave her home. She defied a court order directing her to allow me back home and as we speak I’m sleeping in a tent outside the premises of my home”, he said.
When this publication tried to seek a comment from the police officer, she declined to comment and subsequent efforts to reach her proved unsuccessful as she did not pick-up the phone.
But pictures show Masuku’s wife Lungile Lydia Makhubu, the police officer passing via the gate as her disabled husband sits helplessly at the gate.
When asked to explain what was happening in the pictures sent to this publication, Masuku said his wife walked past him at the gate on Friday while harassing him saying “even if the court could allow him back home” no one will take care of him.
“I can’t walk,I’m disabled and she evicting me from the home I built with over R600,000.00”, he said when speaking to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.
