MBABANE:Issufomia Issufo Calu, the owner of the Mahhala Big Tree Complex who is currently persecuted by Judges who are siding with Galp Eswatini has been summoned to appear in court again, the investor is fresh from prison after being jailed by Judge Titus Mlangeni on highly questionable contempt of court charges.

Calu was owning the Filling Station after renting the premises within the Big Tree Complex, his business was intentionally collapsed by Galp Eswatini after the fuel company refused to supply him with fuel amid contractual disagreements, the court failed to force Galp Eswatini to comply with a court order and supply the fuel.

But subsequent to the defiance by Galp Eswatini when ordered by the court to supply the fuel, businessman Calu purchased the Complex and evicted Galp Eswatini from his premises saying he wanted to engage another company to operate the Filling Station.

But Judge Titus Mlangeni ordered the businessman not to remove Galp Eswatini from the premises, he then jailed the investor for allegedly defying a court order by removing the Galp Eswatini equipment including fuel tanks.

“The Judge physically came here to see if Calu removed the equipment and he then jailed him for alleged contempt of court. We are concerned about what is happening in this matter because we lost our jobs and Judges are ensuring that, our employer is persecuted”, said one of the Big Tree Complex employees when speaking to this Swaziland News on Monday afternoon.

Businessman Issufomia Issufo Calu confirmed last week to this publication that, he was released from prison after being imprisoned for alleged contempt of court last weekend.

Judge Titus Mlangeni has summoned the businessman again to appear in court on Tuesday, Calu was recently released from prison allegedly by Attorney General(AG) Sifiso Khumalo after being jailed by the Judge.

Efforts to seek a comment from Galp Eswatini Management proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.

Galp Eswatini and businessman Issufomia Issufo Calu has been involved in a legal battle for over two(2) years now, the battle resulted to the closure of the Big Tree Filling Station.
