MBABANE:The Eswatini Government has stopped Percy Simelane from responding to this Swaziland News on behalf of the King but instead, Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo and his Deputy Thabile Mdluli have been mandated to respond on behalf of the Monarchy.
This is contained in a interim order obtained by the Eswatini Government in a matter with editor Zweli Martin Dlamini and this Swaziland News, the matter is before Mpumalanga High Court Acting Judge Johannes Hendrickus Roelofse.
“We will send the questions on stories about the King to Alpheous or Thabile as per the order and if they refuse to respond within seventy-two(72) hours, we will publish”, said the editor.
On another note, Alpheous Nxumalo and the Government issued a Circular directing all public officials not to respond to the Swaziland News, it remains to be seen if the Government will comply with the court order much against the Circular Memorandum.
