MANZINI: Professor Winnie Nhlengetfwa, the Vice Chancellor Southern Africa Nazarene University’s (SANU) has been suspended pending an investigation on issues surrounding the misappropriation of funds, insiders told this publication.
Stanely Ngcwane the Univesity’s Registrar when reached for comments by this Swaziland News did not deny the suspension but clarified that the matter was handled by the Board.
‘‘This issue is still with the Board, we don’t have the full details as yet, we have only been informed that the Vice Chancellor has been suspended from work with immediate effect’’, he said.
On Thursday, 29 October the Eswatni Observer reported that The National Workers Union in Swaziland Higher Institutions (NAWUSHI) petitioned parliament calling for a forensic audit at both the University Of Eswatini (UNESWA) and the Southern Africa Nazarene (SANU).the union alleged that there were issues of misappropriation of funds in both institutions.
Efforts to reach the Vice Chancellor proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
