MBABANE:King Mswati has allegedly purchased a Mercedes Maybach worth over R4million for his new Liphovela Nomcebo Zuma, the daughter of former South African President Jacob Zuma.
‘Liphovela’ in siSwati means an official girlfriend to the King and as exclusively reported by this Swaziland News earlier, Nomcebo Zuma is highly expected to be formally introduced to the Nation during the upcoming uMhlanga Reed Dance ceremony to be held later this month.
The information about the alleged purchasing of the Mercedes Maybach was shared to this publication by State security officers and it is alleged that, the vehicle for Liphovela Nomcebo Zuma arrived with other King’s vehicles.
“She was using old vehicles as she haven’t been allocated formal escorts and the King purchased the Mercedes Maybach for her. Once she officially becomes Inkhosikati(King’s wife), she will get other vehicles”, said one of the King’s bodyguards.
When asked by this Swaziland News to clarify the matter, Acting Government Spokesperson Thabile Mdluli said, Government was not involved in the King’s private affairs.
“Government is not involved in the private affairs of the His Majesty the King.Likewise, His Majesty is not obligated to disclose his private and personal life or purchases”, said the Acting Government Spokesperson.
Nomcebo Zuma is highly expected to become King Mswati’s 16th wife after the King successfully sent a delegation to the Zuma family in KwaZulu Natal about two(2) months ago for “kucela” in terms of Customary Law.
‘Kucela’ means seeking permission or blessings from family elders before marrying their daughter.
