MBABANE:King Mswati,an absolute Monarch, was seen viewing exhibited arms and bullets in Uganda this week, he was with President Yoweri Museveni.
The King was in Uganda on a State visit after attending Rwandan President Paul Kagame’s inauguration, he then travelled to Zimbabwe for the Southern African Development Community(SADC) Summit.
But eSwatini is marred by consistent political killings perpetrated by the King’s regime, human rights lawyer Thulani Maseko, the Chairperson of the pro-democracy MultiStakeholder Forum(MSF) was killed for allegedly demanding democracy.
Reached for comments on Saturday, Wandile Dludlu,the Deputy President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) said, sustainable peace could only be achieved through democracy not militarism.
“Sustainable peace and prosperity of the Swazis rest with democracy not militarism. Any leader in this country must know and understand that, sustainable peace rests with a democratic dispensation not militarism, the choice is yours Your Majesty”, said the PUDEMO Deputy President when responding to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.
Ona other note, the King and President Museveni discussed issues of mutual interest between eSwatini and Uganda including trade.
