MBABANE:Vumile Dlamini, the removed Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Royal Science and Technology Park(RSTP) was earning thirty-four thousand, one hundred and thirty five Rands, eight four-cents(R34,135.84) after deductions but, he subsequently became a multimillionaire through alleged corruption.

This is contained in part of the bundle of documentary evidence obtained by this Swaziland News Investigation Unit, the documents were obtained in the ongoing high level investigation into allegations of fraud and corruption within the Royal Science and Technology Park(RSTP), a State entity under the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology(ICT).

Dlamini is allegedly implicated in one of the biggest corruption scandals in that, he allegedly looted over R100million public funds through suppliers, an investigation by the Anti Corruption Commission(ACC) in this regard, was subsequently sabotaged.

But new documents being analyzed by this publication suggest that, the amount allegedly looted could accumulate to over R300million, the removed CEO declined to comment about the new developments.

On another note,Dr Andile Metfula who was appointed to replace Dlamini on Acting basis, has been receiving death threats amid the power struggle within the corridors of power.

This was confirmed by Phesheya Dube, the Principal Secretary(PS) in the Ministry of Information,Communication and Technology(ICT) through a public statement.

“The Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology has been made aware of disturbing threats against Dr. Andile Metfula, the Acting CEO of the Royal Science and Technology Park and officers. These threats are gravely concerning and being taken seriously by the Ministry. The safety and security of our personnel are of paramount importance. The Ministry is committed to ensuring that Dr Metfula, along with all other officials, are protected from any harm. We have engaged with the relevant security authorities to enforce necessary security measures in safeguarding Dr. Metfula and the Royal Science and Technology Park and his support staff, to avert any potential threats”, said the Principal Secretary.

It is alleged that, the power struggle erupted after the removal of Vumile Dlamini amid the over R100million fraud and corruption scandal within the State owned entity.

ICT Minister Savannah Maziya has been taking decisive action to clean the Royal Science and Technology Park(RSTP) and other State entities under her Ministry amid allegations of corruption.

But it appears that, the corruption is deep rooted and the syndicates are pulling the trigger against those threatening their interests.
