MBABANE:Kareem Ashraff, the influential, powerful and politically connected businessman has complained about a person he described as an “idiot who writes news online accusing him,the King, the Prime Minister” and everybody of corruption.
Speaking during a recent interview with Channel S when interviewed by veteran journalist Qhawe Mamba, Ashraff who stands accused of looting billions of public funds within the Ministry of Health resulting to the shortage of drugs in public hospitals said, the ‘idiot’ was given the health crisis report. He wondered why those who commissioned the Funduzi Forensic Services investigation failed to submit the report to the police, Anti Corruption Commission(ACC) or other law enforcement agencies instead of submitting it to an ‘idiot’ who always accuse everybody of corruption.
“You have the police, you have the intelligence, you have the Anti Commission. Why you go to some ‘idiot’ sitting there,he accuses His Majesty one day, the next day he accuses Prime Minister,he accuses everybody, you can’t catch him”, said the SwaziPharm Director.
Ashraff said he knew that “nobody will ever touch him because he did nothing wrong” but was concerned about the ‘idiot’ who continues to write, he did not name the person he was referring to.
But Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini said, Ashraff once went to Mozambique to meet some dangerous drug dealers, asking for assistance to assassinate him.
”I am not sure if he was referring to me during the interview with Channel S. But as disclosed earlier, he allegedly visited Mozambique a few months ago to meet some dangerous drug dealers asking for assistance with hitmen to assassinate me.Luckily, one of the drug dealers and multimillionaire businessman is a fan of this Swaziland News and he made efforts to alert me and further gave me the entire plan how Ashraff wanted to kill me. Ashraff then sent ex-Times journalist Charles Matsebula who pretended as if he wanted to see me but, I was already aware of the plot. I told Charles Matsebula to come and while he was along the way, one Cabinet Minister who is close to Ashraff was heard saying “it’s over with Zwemart”. I connected the dots and realized that the intelligence information I received from the Mozambican businessman was being implemented. But I told Charles to come just to gather some more intelligence information and give them some hope that, they were winning. After Charles arrived in Johannesburg, I then refused to meet him. So now Ashraff might be speaking out of frustration because they can’t catch me but, we will continue to demand accountability regarding the shortage of drugs in public hospitals”, said the editor.
