MBABANE:Princess Tfobile,the Director of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology(LUCT) has ordered students to purchase graduation gowns from the University thus grabbing the business from women in the Small and Medium Enterprise(SME).
In a memo released on Wednesday, the Director urged the students to deposit the money in the University’s bank account.
“All Graduating students are advised of the following prices for the graduation regalia”, reads the memo in part.
A questionnaire was sent to the Limkokwing Director, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report, she was asked to clarify if the University “is licensed to also sell graduation gowns apart from being an institution of higher learning”.
One of the parents who spoke to this Swaziland News expressed concerns with the new developments suggesting that, gowns will now be purchased at the University.
“Does this mean the women who manufacture the graduation gowns will now lose business and the money will go to Tfobile?”, said the parent.
It has been disclosed that, with the over one thousand(1000)students at Limkokwing University, the Director will allegedly cash over R2million.
