EZULWINI:Prince Lonkhokhela, the Minister of Natural Resources and Energy says, it is the King’s vision to see Mines contributing to economic recovery and ten percent(10%) of the country’s Gross Domestic Products(GDP).
The Minister was speaking when officially launching the 16th Organisation of African Geological Surveys (OAGS) Annual General Assembly in Eswatini, the event was held at the Happy Valley Hotel Ezulwini this week.
“The King's vision and unwavering support for the mining sector is an essential component of Eswatini's Economic Recovery Strategy. His Majesty's belief in the potential of our mines to contribute 10% to our GDP provides us with a clear direction and a sense of urgency in our work”, said the Natural Minister as quoted by Government online platforms.
It has been reported that, as part of the Conference's program, delegates had the opportunity to visit two(2) of Eswatini's most significant mining sites: the historic Ngwenya Iron Ore Mine and the Eswatini Green Chert Mine.
Prince Guduza, the Chairman of the Mines and Minerals Board was also present during the Conference.
