MBABANE:Mlamuli Dlamini, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Eswatini TV is allegedly preparing summary dismissal and suspension letters for employees who participated in a Media Workers Union meeting last week.
“It is alleged that on the 10th September 2024, you were part of a group of employees that engaged in disruptive behaviour during official working hours by engaging in non-work related matters like discussing union matters, thereby jeopardising company productivity in the process”,reads the letters in part, to be served to the employees on Thursday morning.
This Swaziland News managed to take a picture of the letters inside one of the Management offices.
A questionnaire was sent to the Eswatini TV CEO but,he declined to comment.
Reached for comments on Thursday morning, one of the employees said they haven’t received the letters but they were informed that, they might be fired or suspended.
“We haven’t received the letters and I’m shocked that you now have those letters including our names”, said one of the employees.
It is alleged that,the employees were complaining about issues of salaries and the alleged ongoing corruption involving the Chief Executive Officer.
The CEO is accused of renting cars for three hundred and fifty thousand Rands(R350,000.00) monthly, while the State owned media company faces financial challenges and struggling to implement a salary review.
