MBABANE:Sabelo Ndzinisa,a Times journalist and Nkosingiphile Myeni from the Swazi Observer allegedly extorted thirteen thousand Rands(R13,000.00) bribe each from an elderly high profile man, thretening to expose him for cheating on his wife.
Worth-noting, cheating is not a criminal offense and journalists are only expected to write and report about cheating if there’s an element of public interest and/or if the cheating involves a criminal offense including; abuse of power, looting of public funds, corruption and nepotism or any element that is of public interest.
The name of the elderly high profile man cannot be revealed as he is an alleged victim of corruption and/or extortion perpetrated by alleged corrupt journalists.
Bank electronic transfer evidence suggests that, Ndzinisa allegedly received his R13,000.00 on the 10th September 2024, he then tipped his alleged friend Nkosingiphile Myeni from the Swazi Observer who received his share of another R13,000.00 on the 17th September 2024.
Journalist Sabelo Ndzinisa had allegedly demanded fifteen thousand Rands(R15,000.00) from the elderly high profile man but, he later said he was being lenient by offering him a ‘discount’ hence he must pay R13,000.00.
Swazi Observer journalist Nkosingiphile Myeni allegedly told the elderly man that, he “expects the same amount so that, the story could be blocked from both the Observer and Times”.
But after receiving the R13,000.00 each, the two(2) journalists later tipped Kwazi Masuku of the Independent News, the elderly man had already paid twenty-six thousand Rands(R26,000.00) to the two(2) journalists using his First National Bank(FNB) Eswatini and Standard Bank accounts.
Kwazi Masuku was busted in Mbabane on Thursday, he was about to meet the elderly man and collect his R13,000.00 as well but, a friend to the elderly man had already tipped this journalist.
Masuku did not receive the money and was told that the matter as been reported to the Swaziland News, he is the same journalist who was fired by the Times Sunday amid corruption scandals of similar nature.
Kwazi Masuku is also the same journalist who allegedly dated Senate President Lindiwe Gwebu-Dlamini and later turned against her, demanding huge amounts of money while threatening to expose her nudes and private information.
The Senate President desperate to protect her reputation, allegedly tried to even organize a “Car Winning Competition Project” for Masuku who was his ‘Ben 10’ so he can stop extorting her, the “Win a Car Competition” was also marred by corruption scandals.
On another note,Times journalist Sabelo Ndzinisa allegedly told the elderly high profile man that,he will share the money with another Times journalist whose name cannot be revealed as there’s no evidence substantiating that,Ndzinisa gave him the share.
Ndzinisa and Nkosingiphile Myeni declined to comment about the matter while efforts to reach journalist Kwazi Masuku proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments by this Swaziland News,Martin Dlamini, the Managing editor of the Times of eSwatini promised to take action against the implicated journalist.
But the elderly high profile man contacted this journalist on Sunday evening saying, Ndzinisa contacted him crying hysterically, saying if the Swaziland News “can publish and reveal the evidence”, his Times Managing editor will fire him.
”Ucedza kungishayela nyalo uyakhala mani, utsi lomphatsi wakhe lena ka-Times sobatjelile bonkhe as journalists kutsi sewumele Zwemart, waze nje wakhipha le-evidence Zwemart loyo logangile uyacoshwa.Sokhalela mine nyalo kutsi ucela kungakhishwa utawuphelelwa ngumsebenti”, said the elderly high profile man.
