EDITORIAL COMMENT:Plight of teachers now a national crisis, our education system literally collapsing at the hands of Tinkhundla undemocratic regime.

Mnelisi Dlamini, a Times of eSwatini journalist wrote a story of national importance highlighting the plight of teachers at Herefords High School and the article suggests that, educators are living in dilapidated houses.

Well,it will be a disservice to the Nation on my part if I can disregard this issue of vital public interest, amplifying it is indeed in the interests of social and economic development on the grounds that, the teaching profession is and, remains the fundamental foundation of all professions.

But it seems there’s a political agenda in this country by the ruling undemocratic Tinkhundla system of Governance,to destroy the teaching profession and, the basic of this agenda in my view, is politically motivated and intended to produce an illiterate population that will submit to the authority of His Majesty the King who was never elected by the people to be a Head of State.

It is of paramount importance to state that, this political agenda of oppressing teachers will, in the long run, negatively impact the economy, the country will be ‘littered’ with visibly qualified but ignorance human resource.

A graduate who is qualified on paper with a castrated ability to be productive in that particular field, due to the low quality of education,is literally useless and might be unemployable.

It is therefore important to hold this Government accountable and, demand adequate resources for the education sector to enable teachers to provide the best education for the children.

Indeed, it is the duty of the Government to ensure that, schools have enough teachers and that, those teachers are well-paid in accordance with their qualifications so that, they could be motivated to produce the best results and of course by extension, produce highly skilled human resources.

But apart from forcing highly educated teachers to live in squalor, the Tinkhundla undemocratic regime opted to pay low salaries as little as five thousand Rands(R5000.00) for teachers who were employed on contracts and worth-noting, this is a Government that claims to be working for emaSwati.

It is important to note that, the agenda to oppress teachers and deprive them employment opportunities with a decent salary is literally intended to oppress the Nation.

Recently, the regime took advantage of Sifiso “Smallz” Mahlangu because of his illiteracy and ignorance and used him to allegedly poison Mlungisi Makhanya, the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO), if Mahlangu was educated and well-informed about the cruel operations of the Tinkhundla regime and what might happen to him, after being used he wouldn’t have allowed himself to be used and even went as far as recording an incriminating video.

The Tinkhundla regime wants emaSwati to be uneducated and poor so that they could be vulnerable and submit to the authority of the King.

The political agenda to destroy teachers is actually an agenda to strengthen oppression and therefore, as a Nation, we must consistently demand teachers in schools and the payment of decent salaries.

In conclusion, let me state categorically clear that, this country is being collapsed by the oppressive Tinkhundla regime, parents who can’t afford to take their children to private schools will learn after some years that, actually they were sending their children to Government schools for nothing as there are no teachers and, by the time they realize this,it would be too late.

As the independent media, we warned the Nation before the health system collapsed and now, we are doing the same, there’s an agenda by the Tinkhundla cruel regime to oppress teachers and collapse the education system.
