MBABANE: Bheki Mamba, the President of the Swaziland Democratic Nurses Union(SWADNU) said his organisation is planning to take government to court for failing to provide Personal Protective Equipment(PPEs) for health workers despite receiving over E500million donations from various local and international organisations.

Speaking to this Swaziland News on Tuesday during am interview, the nurses President said the decision was triggered by the fact that the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has been predicted to be worse than the first wave government was doing nothing to provide drugs in hospitals. It has been widely reported that the donated monies that was meant to fight the COVID-19 was looted within the Deputy Prime Minister Themba Masuku\'s office under the Disaster Management Agency.

\"Among our programmes we might even end up going to court to try and force government to do something in making the situation better in hospitals,\"  said the nurses President.

Mamba further said that as nurses they have seen nothing purchased with the money donated by companies to government to fight COVID-19, instead, he revealed that the health system was surviving with equipment that was donated directly by the Taiwan and the People Republic of China and other organisations.

\"There is nothing that has been bought by the government but what we have seen is that some of the donated materials were being stolen at the Central Medical Stores,\" he said.
