EXPOSED:Department of Fire Divisional Officer-Transport Jeremiah Dlamini allegedly stealing Government fuel,suspends junior officer who caught him.

MBABANE:Jeremiah Dlamini,a Divisional Officer-Transport within the Department of Fire and Emergency Services under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development is allegedly stealing and selling Government fuel.

Electronic evidence in possession of this Swaziland News that includes pictures and videos suggests that,Dlamini was allegedly stealing the Government fuel while working as Nhlangano Station Officer between 2022 and 2024, he was subsequently promoted to the position of Divisional Officer-Transport and “is now based in Mbabane.

But a junior officer who caught Dlamini on numerous occasions has been questionably suspended.

The suspended officer has been reluctant to release the evidence saying he “wants to present same during the disciplinary hearing” to be conducted by the Civil Service Commission(CSC) however, other officers leaked the videos to this journalist blaming the suspended officer for delaying to release such evidence that triggered the suspension.

“He has been refusing to release this evidence but we feel we must send it to you because he has been suspended and maybe felt sending the videos and pictures to you might create more problems for him. We told him that these videos must go to Zwemart before the hearing so that it can be known he is being victimized for this.He is also a union leader who represents us”, said the source who leaked the videos.

In some of the videos and pictures,the then Station Officer “is seen pretending to be fueling an Ambulance for the Department of Fire, he then allegedly filled-up his container that looks like a twenty(20) litre, the pictures and videos were taken on different occasions.

In another picture,the Senior Fire Officer was caught literally approaching the fueling site with a blue twenty(20) litre and even on this particular day, he was allegedly stealing the fuel.

It has been disclosed that,the eSwatini Government has lost millions of public funds through fuel theft by civil servants particularly senior officers.

Dlamini declined to comment when reached by this publication.

On another note, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services is currently in a leadership crisis with no working equipment, Parliament is highly expected to intervene.
