Whenever a man kills or abuse a woman, we don’t even listen to his justification why he killed the woman,in fact as a society we don’t even need any justification for committing Gender Based Violence(GBV).

But on Thursday and shortly after we published a story about Babongile Mkhonta who “has been arrested for allegedly defrauding man over five hundred thousand Rands(R500,000.00) child maintenance for a kid that never existed, One Billion Rising Coordinator Colani Hlatjwako was quick to say, men must always be available for their kids instead of being absent fathers.

This is the kind of attitude that men are complaining about, whenever a man becomes a victim of abuse at the hands of a woman, we will hear all kinds of nonsense or justifications attempting to shift the blame to the man who is a victim.

But we thank the police for arresting this alleged criminal who allegedly took advantage of a man who was willing to take care of his child and, defrauded him.

We actually don’t know the whole story because the matter is pending in court and, we cannot therefore conclude that, the father was absent as possibilities are very high that, Mkhonta may have been shown another child that does not belong to Mkhonta.

The fact that, Sihle Ndlovu managed to pay over R500,000.00 child maintenance in five(5) years suggests that,he might be blessed with a well-paying job or he is a businessman,we actually don’t know why he was absent.

But all those speculations or whatever the reasons why Ndlovu paid this money without seeing the child, cannot be a justification for the woman to defraud him.

I am saying this because we always condemn men for abusing women but, when it comes to women, we gather all sorts of pieces of irrelevant opinions to try and shift the blame to the man.

Babongile Mkhonta is an alleged criminal and he must face the law, we thank the police officers who enforced the law without fear or favour.

We must condemn GBV and abuse from all angles, some men are very responsible and willing to take care of their children but, they are normally taken advantage-of and abused by heartless women, these alleged female criminals must be arrested just like men who abuse women, we don’t need justifications.

We must condemn men who kill women,Ndlovu did the right thing by reporting Babongile Mkhonta to the police after the child maintenance fraud, the law must take its course.

Therefore, One Billion Rising Coordinator Colani Hlatjwako is off-side, such issues must not be handled with emotions but objectively, taking into account the interests and rights of both men and women including children. 

We have published a series of articles condemning and exposing Gender Based Violence(GBV) particularly violence against women but, women must never think or conclude that, men were created to be their slaves.

Sihle Ndlovu has just demonstrated that, there’s a professional and legal way to seek justice against female alleged criminals, all men must avoid abusing or killing women but instead,they must take them to court.
